Witt, Alvina (28 AUG 1872-JAN 1948)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Witt, 76, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran church, the Rev. J. C. Langholz officiating. Mrs. Witt died as the result of a heart attack she suffered at her home last Tuesday afternoon.

 

Mrs. Witt (nee Knaack) was born in the town of Hortonia, Outagamie county on Aug. 28, 1872. She was baptized at Hortonville and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Ellington. She was married to Fred Witt at Ellington on Dec. 29, 1893. They moved to the town of Beaver in 1900 and came to reside in Loyal in 1936.

 

Surviving besides her husband, are five sons, Fred and William Witt of Watertown, Elmer Witt of Loyal, John Witt of St. Paul and Harvey Witt of Curtiss; three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Elda) Lebeck of Marshfield, Mrs. H. U. (Hilda) Laufenberg of West Allis and Mrs. Edna Degner of Green Bay; three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Emma) Franck of Appleton, Mrs. Rob (Louisa) Tiedt of Black Creek and Mrs. Fred (Minnie) Huse of Milwaukee, Ore.; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

 

Pallbearers at the funeral last Friday were August Price, Ernest Molle, Adolph Molle, Fred Raeck, Herman Hardrath and Otto Becker. Flower girls were Dorothy and Lois Degner, Jean Laufenberg and Jean and Joan Witt, all granddaughters.

 

Misses Eunice Langholz and Wilma Deuermeyer sang "Oh, Where Is the Home of the Soul to be Found," "Abide With Me" and "Let Me Go."

 

Out of town persons attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Witt and Mr. and Mrs. William Witt of Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lebeck, Mr. and Mrs. Norton Spooner, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Gates and Mrs. William Schulbauser of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Jihn Witt and Mrs. Mary Paral of St. Oaul; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Witt, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wittlinger, and MissEvelyn Fahrenbach of Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Laufenberg and Mr. and Mrs. James Laufenberg of Milwaukee; Mrs. Al Degner of Green Bay.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tiedt, Alvin Tiedt and Mrs. Mary Rhiel of Black Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Franck, Mrs. Frieda Knaack, Mrs. Martin Timm, Milton Knaack, Mr. and Mrs. John Bohl and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Parler of Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. John Scheer of Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Witt of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Witt, Mr. Jerome Van Dreel, and William Scheel of Abbotsford; and Williaam Wepfer of Colby.

 

The Tribune extends to the bereaved the sympathy in the loss of a beloved wife, mother and sister.
