Winkler, Mr. and Mrs. Max (Golden - 10 April 1959)
Mr. and Mrs. Max Winkler celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday at the home of their son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Winkler, in the Town of Grant. There were married April 10, 1909 in Berlin, Germany, and came to America on the S. S. Arabia in March, 1926, making the Atlantic trip in 14 days.
Mr. Winkler was born November 18, 1886 in Faust Lausitz, Germany, and his wife the former Ida Schucker, was born October 20, 1888, in Berlin. Mr. Winkler served with the German Army in World War I, learned the florist trade in Germany, and located in Chicago on coming to America. He was employed for 23 years in meat packing and candy manufacturing, and in 1949 he was retired. He and his wife came to Clark county to make their home with the Helmuth Winklers.
