St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Green Grove, was the scene at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 1951, of the marriage of Miss Joyce Elaine Erdman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erdman, Colby, to Harold James Degenhardt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Degenhardt, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.). Officiating at the nuptial services was the Rev. Paul T. Dietz.
The bride was attired in an entrained satin formal featuring a yoke of marquisette and a satin and lace ruffle. Her fingertip veil was secured to a headdress of Orange blossoms and she carried a bridal bouquet.
Miss Pearl Erdman, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Delores Poznanski, Greenwood, Lucille Augustine, Colby, and Arlene Erdman, Hillsboro, the bride’s cousin. All were gowned alike in costumes of pink, green, orchid and gold satin, respectively. Each carried a spray of gladioli and dahlias.
The two little flower girls were Sharon Glenzer and Myrna Augustine, Colby, who wore white satin dresses.
Attending the groom were Eugene Glenzer, Whittlesey, the bride’s uncle, as best man, and Gaylord Fakes, Owen, the bride’s cousin, Norman Augustine, Colby, and Galen Erdman, Colby, the bride’s brother, as groomsmen.
The couple were honored at a reception at 4 p.m. at the Curtiss Community Hall.
The bride attended Colby High School. The groom, who served with the U.S. Army, is employed at the Clover Hill Cheese Factory, Curtiss, where the couple will reside.
Guests at the wedding were from Hillsboro, Holcombe, Milwaukee, Marshfield, Milan, Greenwood, Whittlesey, Goodrich, Curtiss, Loyal, Owen and Wausau.
