Patey, Mabel Ann (28 November 1871 - 18 May 1959)
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home for Miss Mabel Patey, 87, of Neillsville, who died Monday. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated, and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mabel Ann Patey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Patey, was born November 28, 1871, in Plymouth, England. Her parents, with four other children, came to Wisconsin when she was five months old. The family later moved to Dubuque, Ia.
Miss Patey later returned to Neillsville and for many years had made her home with her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Patey. She was an active member of the Congregational Church, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She also was a member of the Monday Progress Club. It was through her efforts that the early sunrise Easter service was started on the Black River near the Indian School.
She is survived by two brothers, Sydney of Neillsville, and William H. of Phoenix, Ariz., and a sister, Mrs. Walter (Philippa) Lindemann of Dubuque, Ia.
