Riverside/Fremont (21 May 1959)
Mrs. Freeman Dankemyer was hostess to the Fremont Homemakers Club Thursday afternoon, with all members present by one. Mrs. Oscar Loos, the new president, conducted the business meeting. Plans for a tour were discussed and will be completed at the next meeting. A short program followed the meeting and the members had an exchange of seeds and bulbs. Mrs. Lyle Doehr will entertain the club at the June 11 meeting.
Darlene Ploman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ploman, has returned from the national convention of student nurses in Philadelphia, Pa. she also took a sight-seeing trip to new york City. She is a student nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
The pupils and teacher, Florence Foemmel, of the Big Four School enjoyed a picnic at the Neillsville Park Tuesday. Mrs. Wayne Booth, Mrs. Emil Masephol and Mrs. Wenzel Lee furnished the transportation. The last day of school picnic was held at the school house Wednesday. Mrs. Foemmel will return as teacher next year.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Arbelovsky have returned from the Otto Svoboda home in Woodstock, Ill. They were called there Thursday, due to the serious illness of their granddaughter, Kathy Svoboda. She had contracted measles, following a tonsillectomy, and was very ill for several days.
Members of the Fremont Grange attended church services Sunday at the Chili E. U. B. Church and enjoyed a dinner together at the Grange Hall following. Mr. and Mrs. John Prust were guests at the dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. John Cain and son, Mark of Waukesha spent the weekend with John’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Manford Cain. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Radatz of Byron, Ill., were Sunday visitors in the Cain home.
The Heathville School held their school picnic Thursday. The teacher is Mrs. Ruth Kissinger.
