Young, Betty Rae (Marriage - 23 May 1959)

Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday by Miss Betty Rae Young of Sharon, and Arthur Frank Bardeleben, Beloit, in a 7:30 p.m. candlelight service performed by the Rev. Thomas P. Hinz, in the Trinity Lutheran Church, in Beloit.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Young of Sharon are the parents of the bride, while the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bardeleben, Neillsville.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a full-length gown of white Fortuna taffeta. The skirt was fashioned with a bustle in the back, and the fitted bodice was complete with lace jacket and matching lace mitts.  Over all, the dress was adorned with four clusters of butterflies. Her fingertip veil cascaded from a small crown adorned with seed pearls. She carried her mother’s prayer book topped with a camellia, to which were attached white streamers with pink sweetheart roses.  All flowers for the wedding were made by the groom.

SP5 Iva E. Young was her sister’s maid of honor. She wore a street-length dress of orchid taffeta with matching accessories and carried a colonial bouquet of white orchid carnations.

Junior bridesmaids were Laurene Gayle Davis and Donna Marie Beetstra.  They wore identical dresses of taffeta in a seafoam shade.  They carried bouquets of seafoam and white carnations.

Susan McKee was the flower girl.

Mothers of the bride and groom wore navy blue dresses with matching accessories.

Bestman was Bobby Galbreath; and groomsmen were David Gronke and Richard Bardeleben.  Walter Marty and Eddie Hohmann were ushers.

A reception and dance was held at  the Izaak Walton League Clubhouse in Beloit. 

On their return from a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Bardeleben will reside at 1749 Congress St., in Beloit.
