Riverside/Fremont (28 May 1959)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dankemyer and family, Neillsville, visited Sunday afternoon in the Freeman Dankemyer home.  Mr. Dankemyer has been ill for the last few days, and Mrs. Dankemyer fell down the stairs Saturday morning and received painful bruises about the head and body.

 

Mrs. Lyle Doehr entertained a group of friends Friday evening for the birthday of Mr. Doehr.  Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Menger and Jim, Mr. and Mrs. Don Bersell, and Gary, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Wundrow, Marjie and Carol of Chili and Wayne Panzer of Hewitt.

 

Sunday evening supper guests in his honor were: Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Beil and Arwin, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Montag of Chili, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dankemyer and family of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Elgene Montag of Hewitt and Russel Lang of Greenwood.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schultz of Marshfield entertained 22 relatives at dinner Sunday in honor of the confirmation of their daughter, Mary Ellen, at the Methodist Church.  Four generations were present: Mrs. T. W. Peaslee, the great-grandmother; Mrs. Myrtie Davis, Grandmother; Mrs. Robert Schultz, mother; and Mary Ellen.  Warren Davis was also a guest.

 

Relatives and friends in the area attended the Baccalaureate services for Granton seniors in the high school gym Sunday evening. The Rev. Robert Perkins of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Chili gave the address  to the 21 seniors.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gower of Marshfield visited Wednesday evening in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Eppers. Thursday guests there were Mr. and Mrs. George Biddle and daughter, June, of Thorp.

 

Fremont Grange met Friday evening in the Grange Hall, with the Clark Grange members as guests. A program in charge of Esther Peterson was given.  Lecturer, was (Missing lines) musical number as their part in the program.  A lunch was served.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jennings were Sunday dinner guests of the Henry Elmhorsts in Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Rand of Neillsville were Sunday afternoon and supper guests in the Milton Rand home.

 

Mrs. Bert Todd of Sherwood was an overnight guest Friday in the Wayne Booth home.  Mr. and Mrs. Booth and family were guests Sunday in the Silas Booth home at Barren.

 

Howard Rand and Ricky Cain attended a motorcycle hill climb at Phillips Sunday afternoon.
