Geiger, Mr. & Mrs. John (50th - 13 NOV 1951)

Although Mr. and Mrs. John Geiger had expected that one or two relatives would call last Sunday to help them celebrate their golden anniversary, they had no warning of the crowd that actually came.

Because their anniversary date fell on Nov. 13th, during the week, the relatives had decided to hold a reception the Sunday before.

Those attending included: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Maurer and family, Cadott; Mrs. Ralph Cook. Stevens Point; a niece, Elizabeth Cramer, and Father Arthur Cramer, Hewitt; Father Oscar Cramer, Edgar; Mr. and Mrs. John roger and family, Wis. Rapids.

Others from Marshfield to attend were: Mr. and Mrs. Gene Beauchien and daughter, Susan, Mrs. Mary Stangl, and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Billie and family.

A nephew, George Maurer of Los Angeles, Calif., flew here especially for the occasion.

Various gifts were presented the couple at the reception.

The Geigers were married in Marshfield on the 13th of Nov., 1901, Father Eisen officiating.  Because of the supposedly unlucky day, the 13th, Mrs. Geiger was hesitant about exchanging vows but now will admit that their luck has been good ever since.

Immediately following their marriage, the Geigers came to Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), where John had purchased the Shoe Shop, and they have resided here ever since.
