Loyal, Wisconsin Locals (11 June 1959)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Claude, Cindy and Randy, Goldfield, Ia., were weekend guests of the Rev. and Mrs. Eslick.  Mrs. Claude is a daughter of the Eslicks.

 

The Free Methodist congregation had a picnic for their Sunday school scholars at Wildwood Park, Marshfield, on Saturday.  Honor awards were presented to the children for recent contests.

 

Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Trindal visited Sunday with the Rev. and Mrs. Bennetts at Plainfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Allen Kindt and daughter of Milwaukee and Mrs. A. Kindt of Neillsville were Saturday afternoon and supper guests at the F. E. Gotter home.  They also called at the Arthur Lautenbach home.

 

Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. William Foote of Lynn were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Gotter.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Giese and sons of Whitewater and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ewert and sons of Crystal Lake, Ill., were weekend guests at the Ray Prior home.  The Gieses also visited his parents in Withee.

 

Others at the Prior home for a picnic supper Saturday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Prior, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Fleming and children, Mr. and Mrs. Art Scheel, and Mrs. Christine Emling and daughter, all of rural Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Prior and daughters, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Prior and children and Allan Prior.

 

The Edward Giese family will leave early this week for Atlantic City, N. J., where he is employed by a chemical company as a salesman.  The family will live on Brigantine Island, near Atlantic City.

 

Mrs. Raymond Ewert of Crystal Lake, Ill., called on Mrs. Vern Millard Saturday afternoon.

 

The afternoon group of the A. L. C. Women met Friday in the Lutheran parish hall.  Mrs. Hulda Reichert led in the Bible study.  Mrs. Walter Krahn had charge of the devotions and also explained about the work of the junior mission band.  Reports were given on the various dinners served and the June visitation list was read.  It was decided to have the church cleaning day, June 23, with a potluck lunch at noon.  A committee was appointed to see about shades for the parish hall windows.  A report was given of the W. M. F. convention held here last month.  A free will offering was taken.  Lunch was served by Mrs. Verland Dux, Mrs. William Wehrman, Mrs. William Fohrman, and Mrs. Emil Fabian.

 

David Attwood left Saturday for Ft. Benning, Ga., where he will study for an army commission.  He will be there for nine weeks.
