Pine Valley (18 June 1959)
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Pflughoeft and children and Mrs. David Pietenpol attended the funeral Monday in Marshfield of Ted Haack, 40. Mr. Haack was a native of Neillsville.
Mr. and Mrs. David Pietenpol of Eau Claire visited last weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Pflughoeft of Pine Valley and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Pietenpol of Granton. Mrs. Pietenpol remained for a longer visit. David returned Monday to work.
Charles Shramek, who has been making his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Lawson in Pine Valley, left Monday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Roy West in Marshall.
Mrs. Roy West of Marshall plans to arrive this week for a visit at the Arlo Lawson, James West, George Kuehn and Joe Kernz residences in the area.
Miss Rose Marie Lueck, a teacher at Haugen, is spending the summer at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Lueck. She started summer school at Eau Claire State College Monday.
Charles F. Lueck, who had been ill at his home for several weeks, is gradually regaining his health.
The Hilltoppers Homemaker Club of Pine Valley and Neillsville is having a vacation during June, July and August, and will resume meetings in September.
Walter Klann, who taught mathematics in Fox Valley Lutheran High School, Appleton, last year, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Klann, recently. He is taking a 10-week summer school course at Arkansas State Teachers’ College at Conway, Ark. He will return to Appleton to teach in September.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Jewett of Mazon, Ill., visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Baker.
Mr. and Mrs. Romuald W. Schmidt and children visited last week with her relatives in Fredericktown, Mo.
