Thomas, Daniel #2 (15 SEP 1954 - 14 FEB 1956)
An autopsy performed at a Madison Hospital last Tuesday night on Daniel Thomas, 17-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomas, route 1, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), disclosed a skull fracture, according to John Bergemann, Clark county coroner, who was present at the autopsy.
Bergemann said the fracture apparently was the result of an accidental fall on the floor while the child and two other young Thomas children were at play in their home. He added that there would be no further investigation.
The injured child was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield, and from there was rushed in an ambulance to Madison to be examined by a neurosurgeon. He died at Madison at 11:40 p.m.
Daniel was born at Neillsville, Sept. 15, 1954. He is survived by his parents, a brother, Earl, 2 ½, a sister, Charlene, 3 ½, and his parental grandfather, William Thomas.
Dist. Attorney John Nikolay Monday said investigation had established that 17-month-old Daniel Thomas had fallen accidentally while playing with two other children in his family.
