Francis, Clara (22 April 1872 - 25 July 1959)

Mrs. Clara Francis, 87, died July 25, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, of old age complications.

The former Clara Howard was born in Fond du Lac County April 22, 1872. She came as a young girl with her parents to a farm in the Town of Eaton.

She was married to Albert Francis in October, 1897, in Clark County. After marriage she continued to live in the Town of Eaton, until the death of her husband in 1924.  She then moved to Loyal and had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Blanche Schmidt for 34 years.

She is survived by two sons, Fred Francis of Medford, Ore., and Floyd Francis of Omaha, Nebr.; a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Schmidt of Loyal; and by 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Myre Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.  The Rev. Alfred Attwood officiated.
