Dins, Dorothy Anna Amelia (October 6, 1917 - September 27, 2010)
Dorothy Anna Amelia Dins, age 92, of Colby, met her Lord, Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor, Abbotsford.
Dorothy was born October 6, 1917 in the town of Colby, the daughter
of Otto and Louise (Schumann) Dins.
Dorothy always enjoyed the company of friends and family. She spent
the greater portion of her life assisting many Colby families with
their children. Dorothy enjoyed cards, puzzles, cooking and baking.
Her favorite times of the year were the Holidays when the whole
family would gather. To many of Dorothy’s nieces and nephews,
she was the grandma we never had and the Aunt we favored.
Dorothy remained an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, as a
volunteer, and a member of the sewing circle and Ladies Aid.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Bertha Schauer, good friend Cecil
Hornick, nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Otto Harold,
Fredrick, and Rudy Dins; and sister, Adeline Krueger.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at
the Zion Lutheran Church, Colby. The Rev Mark Neumann will preside.
A time of visitation will be held from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the
church on Saturday. Interment will be at Colby Memorial Cemetery.
The Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield is assisting the
family with arrangements.
