Hoffmann, Sadie R. (17 JUN 1923 - 11 OCT 2010)
COLBY -- Sadie R. Hoffmann, 87, of Colby, passed away with her loved ones at her side, on Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Golden Living Center, Abbotsford.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford, with a visitation at the church from noon until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Father S. Nathan will officiate.
Sadie was born June 17, 1923, in Milan, to Hugo and Ida (Haensgen) Bargenquast. Sadie was joined in marriage to Edmund Hoffmann on Jan. 21, 1941, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Milan. Sadie lived as a housewife and farmed on her and Edmund's farm until their retirement in 1976. Sadie enjoyed planting flowers, baking, playing softball and bingo, and tending to her garden.
She is survived by her children, Shirley (James) Faucher of Waldo, Ida (Robert) Jeske of Weyauwega, James Hoffmann of Owen and Caroline (Thomas) Williams of Muskego. She is further survived by 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Evelyn Bargenquast.
Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund; brothers, Ralph and Elmer Bargenquast; sister-in-law, Bernice Bargenquast; and three great-grandchildren.
