Vandehey, Cecelia (30 JUN 1888 - 11 AUG 1956)
Mrs. Arnold Vandehey, 68, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls on Saturday, Aug. 11th, 1956, following a stroke suffered some time ago and from which she never recovered.
The deceased was born Cecelia Verweyst at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) on June 30, 1888. She was united in marriage to Arnold Vandehey of Thorp in June 1910. The family farmed in the Town of Thorp for many eyars, and six years ago moved to the city of Stanley.
She is survived by her husband Arnold; one son, Donald of Gilman; three daughters, Mrs. Mike (Marie) Kowieski of Auburndale, Mrs. Fernando (Romilda) Duss of Boyd; Mrs. William (Ethel) Kelly of Chicago; twenty-one grandchildren and one brother, Frank Verweyst of Stanley.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Stanley, at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, aug. 14th. The Ladies of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Court No. 1099 of Thorp, of which the deceased was a charter member, attended the services in a body, and also the Rosary Society of Stanley.
Interment took place in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Stanley. Pallbearers were Alfred Kass, George Maier, George Haas, Gilbert Voelker, Anton Baldeschwiler, and John Maier, all of the Catholic Order of Foresters of Thorp.
