Zook, Lucia (27 August 1876 - 30 July 1959)
Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Lucia Zook in Augusta. She died in her home following a heart attack Thursday. She was 82 years old and had been in failing health for several years.
She was born August 27, 1876, in Oshkosh. In 1899 she was married to Jacob Zook. They farmed in Jackson County until 1919, then moved to Humbird, where they operated a hardware store until 1923, when they moved to Augusta.
Survivors are two sons, Millard and Lloyd, a daughter, Irene, all of Augusta; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four brothers, William of Marshfield, Carl of Milwaukee, John of Hixton, and Frank of La Crosse; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Head of Owen, Sister Marcella, Monroe, La., and Sister Adolphia of Belleville, Ill.
Funeral services were held from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Augusta, Monday. Father Edwin Knauf officiated. Burial was made in Rest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will be remembered by many of the older folks here.
