Loyal, Wisconsin (13 August 1959)
There will be a R. N. A. picnic at the Greenwood Park at 5 p.m. Sunday, August 16. Each member may invite her family or other guests to attend. Each is to bring sandwiches and dishes for her party and a dish to share.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Smith left Monday by car to tour the Black Hills, Yellowstone National Park, and other western points of interest. At the park, they will be joined by Mr. and Mrs. L. Knapp of Seattle, who will continue the tour with them. The ladies are sisters.
The women of the church met last Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church parlors. Devotions were led by Mrs. Arnold Pieper and Bible Study was conducted by Mrs. Fred Clouse. Mrs. Harry Schlinsog acted as secretary in the absence of Mrs. John Luchterhand.
The visitation list was announced and window shade samples were shown. Mrs. Fred Clouse will be in charge of flowers for the altar for August.
The president announced that a picture of Christ had been given Mrs. Ethel Will as a farewell gift of the society. Hostesses were Mrs. Lloyd Hansen, Mrs. Art Wolfe, Mrs. Everett Helms, and Mrs. Jake Henseler, Jr.
The next meeting will be a joint meeting of both women’s groups and will be held in the evening, September 3, with potluck lunch.
Mrs. Darlene Halpin and children of North Lake returned home Saturday after visiting her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hales. She came to attend the funeral of her grandmother, Mrs. George Haeuser, in Greenwood Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Lavandowska of Neillsville were Saturday callers at the home of Mrs. Clara Rollins.
Mrs. Walter Weihmueller and children, Eau Claire, returned home Friday after visiting her husband’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Weihmueller, and attending the funeral of her grandmother, Mrs. George Haeuser of Greenwood.
