Hendricks, Anton F. (5 DEC 1915 - 26 OCT 2010)

THORP -- Anton F. "Tony" Hendricks, 94, of Thorp, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. There will be no services held. Interment of cremains will take place in Old St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery in Thorp at a later date.

Anton Frank Hendricks was born Dec. 5, 1915, in Minneapolis, the son of Frank and Edna (Scott) Hendricks. During the 1930s, he worked in the Thorp area, logging, skidding and working in sawmills. Tony was united in marriage to Ann Abramczuk on June 17, 1939, in Iowa. He farmed the family farm and worked a few years for Plautz Brothers in Greenwood. In the early 1950s, Tony sold his cattle and quit farming, and then went to work at the Blue Moon Cheese factory, in Thorp, until retiring in 1974.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, of Owen; his children, Brian (Joan) Hendricks of Owen, Peggy (Ron) Benzschawel of West Dundee, Ill., Roger Hendricks of Greenwood, Sandra (Cliff) Schofield of Greenwood, Bonnie (Ray) Hallinger of York, Pa., and Mark Hendricks of Rockford, Ill.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
