Boie, Lillian C. (1 SEP 1885 - 11 SEP 1956)

 

Miss Lillian Boie, daughter of the late John and Helen Boie, passed away at the Halterman Rest Home in Stanley on Sept. 11, 1956, following a lingering illness.

 

Funeral services were held for her on Saturday, Sept. 15, 1956 at 2 p.m. from the Thorp Funeral Home.  Her remains were laid to rest in Thorp’s East Side Cemetery.

 

Rev. F. Salveson of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Stanley, officiated.  Two songs were rendered by Mrs. Loran Bivans and daughter Laurel, with Mrs. M. Malinowski as organist.

 

Miss Boie was born Sept. 1, 1885 on the family farm in the Town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

When Miss Boie was 9 years old, her mother passed away leaving her with 3 small brothers to mother.  She devoted her intire life to the care of her father and her brothers.

 

In 1919 she and her father moved into the village of Thorp where Mr. Boie passed away in 1943.  Miss Boie continued to reside there until 1953 when she was hospitalized, and shortly thereafter entered the Halterman Rest Home.

 

Her brothers, Oscar and Harry, both of the Town of Worden, survive, her oldest brother, George, having preceded her in death in 1920.

 

She also leaves to mourn 6 nephews, 4 nieces, and 11 great nieces.

 

Her six nephews acted as pallbearers.  They were: George, Harvey, Byron, Norval, John and Dean Boie.

 

Relatives and friends attending from away were: Mr. and Mrs. Ray Matzen, Mrs. Jack Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Boie and daughter, Judy, of Milwaukee; John E. Boie of Mayville; George Boie of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hanson and son, Harvey, and Mrs. Rudolph Greve of New Holstein; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Greve, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Libby and Miss Mollie Haas of Neenah; Mrs. Mary Herzberg, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Roy F. Bye and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Edwardson of Eau Claire.
