Dietsche, Michael A. (03 Dec 1979 – 06 Dec 1979)

Michael Anthony Dietsche, 3-day-old son of Leland and Bonnie (Nee Schecklman) Dietsche, Route 2, Spencer, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, December 8, 1979.

Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Andrew Bofenkamp at the Rux Funeral Home on Saturday, December 8 at 1:30 p.m. Interment was in the West Spencer Cemetery.

Michael Dietsche was born on December 3, 1979 at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Dietsche; three brothers, Scott, Bryan and Eric, all at home; two sisters, Tammy and Nicole, at home; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Frank Dietsche, Spencer; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Schecklman, Neillsville; and his maternal great-grandfather, Leo Schecklman, Route 3, Neillsville.

Rux Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Milton Grieser and Chad of Stratford.

News: Clark Co. – Wisconsin Electric Rates Among Nation’s Lowest (1979)

Two national reports recently released show that average residential electric rates in Wisconsin are among the nation’s lowest, according to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.

The reports were compiled by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Electricity Consumers Resource Council (ELCON).

As of January 1979, the typical residential customer using 500 kilowatt hours monthly paid $18.78 in Wisconsin. The national average was 23 percent higher ($23), and the New York average was 76 percent higher ($33), the nation’s highest.

Wisconsin’s $18.78 average also was lowest among neighboring states such as Minnesota ($22), Iowa ($23), Illinois ($21), Indiana $24), and Michigan ($21).

Bio: Jackson, David W. – Completes National Guard Course (Dec 1979)

National Guard Pvt. David W. Jackson, son of Mrs. Jean Maneage, 232 Lonita Street, Stuart, Florida, recently completed a tracked-vehicle mechanic course at the U.S. Army Armor School, Fort Knox, Kentucky.

During the course, students were trained to repair engines, transmissions, and the fuel electrical and hydraulic systems of the Army’s tracked-vehicles. They also learned to perform recovery operations for abandoned, damaged, disabled or mired vehicles.

Jackson’s father, Wayne Jackson, lives in Pineview Terrace, Greenwood.

Congratulations to Mr. Ed Kalsow who celebrated his 90th birthday on Saturday, December 15, 1979. His daughter, Mrs. Otto Sternitzky planned and served a dinner for relatives at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton. Open House was held from 2:30 – 4 p.m. for other relatives and friends.

Mr. Kalsow continues to be very active for his age, and during the past year enjoyed a trip to the Holy Land and other places.
