Zwieg, Brandon (26 FEB 1990 - 11 OCT 2010)
Brandon D. Zwieg, 20, Willard, passed away in Eau Claire, on Monday, Oct. 11, 2010. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct.16, at the United Church of Christ, Neillsville. Rev. James Mohr officiated. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, at a later date. Honorary pallbearers were Duane Krainz, Michael Harbort, James Harbort, Cai Kraegenbrink, Derrick Kackel, Justin Held, Matthew Schult and Eric Berns.
Brandon Darwin Zwieg was born on Feb. 26, 1990, in Marshfield, the son of Darwin and Ruth (nee Krainz) Zwieg. He was raised in Willard and received his education in Greenwood, graduating from Greenwood High School in 2008, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He was in his third year at UW-Eau Claire, pursuing a degree in information systems, while also working at Menard’s. He was a very outgoing and active person. At the age of 13, he rode his bike 160 miles to raise money for The Highground veterans memorial park in Neillsville. He enjoyed playing intramural sports including, Volleyball, football, basketball and racquetball. He was a member of the Neillsville United Church of Christ, and held the marketing position on the executive Board of the Association of Information Technology Professionals. He had many interests, but especially loved deer and turkey hunting, fishing, all family activities and socializing with his large circle of friends.
He will be deeply missed by his parents, Darwin and Ruth Zwieg, Willard; his brother, Justin Zwieg, Milwaukee; his aunts and uncles, Iris (Richard) Hulbert, Slinger, Donna (Allan) Harbort, Brookfield, Robert (Mary Ann) Krainz, Willard, and Larry (Cheryl) Krainz, Marshfield, and several cousins.
In Lieu of flowers, Brandon’s family asks that memorials be given in the Brandon Zwieg Memorial Scholarship Fund or a charity of your choice.
