Hopfensperger, Charles (29 OCT 1954 - 19 OCT 2010)

 

Charled Hopfensperger, 55, Bloomer, formerly of Spencer, died at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 22, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Spencer. Rev. Rebekah Tarras and Rev. Robert Hannemann co-officiated. Burial fo;;owed in West Spencer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Zahn, Don Kieser, Bruce Bonitz, Jay Krasselt, Jim Krasselt, Mike Kurzinski, Steve Kurzinski and Terry Hopfensperger.

 

Charles Wayne Hopfensperger was born on Oct. 29, 1954, in Spencer, the son of Wilmer and Viola 9nee Doughty) Hopfensperger. He was raised and received his education in Spencer, graduating from Spencer High School in 1973. He moved to Sheboygan and worked at the Kohler Company for a few years, before moving to Falgstaff, Ariz., where he worked for a company delivering and setting up mobile homes. He married Esther Todd on Aug. 1, 1981, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Spencer. He started his own business, Chuck’s Heating and Cooling, in Marshfield, which he operated until 1998. In 2000, they moved to Bloomer and he worked as a design engineer for Sid Harvey, the Goodin Company, the Ferguson, and for Fed-Ex. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Bloomer. He had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his grandson and family, fishing, hunting, Motorcycles and woodworking.

 

He will  be dearly missed by his wife, Esther, Bloomer; two children, Eric Hopfensperger and Amber Hopfensperger, both of Bloomer; one grandson, Kayden Patterson; nine sisters, Murial (Arnold) Oelrich, Spencer, Doris (Ron) Toltzman, Henderson, Nev., Carol (Frank) Luepke, Sheldon, Iowa, Evelyn (Jess) DErrickson, Hammond, La., Diane (Dale) Mossberger, Henderson, Nev., Lynette (Oscar) Hildbrandt, Spencer, Sharon (Sy;vester) Kurzinski, Junction City, Dawn (Tom) Oberman, Broadhead, and Janice Krasselt, Spencer; one brother, James (Aud) Hopfensperger, Unity; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marvin and Floyd Hopfensperger.
