Covey, Charles Ross (22 May 1902 - August 1959)

 

Funeral services for Charles R. Covey, 57, of Cleveland, O., were held Thursday afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiating.  Burial was made in the Town of Levis Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: Sanford Dehart, Jerry Koranda, Andrew Kurasz, Frank Mazola, James Matousek, and Leon Schultz.

 

P. C. Ludovic, representing the Wilson-Heintz Post, No. 2241, of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, presented the flag to the family.

 

Two hymns, "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "What a Friend," were sung by Mrs. Robert D. Peters, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

 

Mrs. Jean Livisi of Louisville, KY, was her for the services.

 

Charles Ross Covey, son of the late Will and Minnie Griffith Covey, was born May 22, 1902, at Coldridge, Nebr.  He was an upholsterer for the last 40 years, having resided in Cleveland for the last 35 years.  On September 4, 1942, he entered the army at Cleveland and received his discharge in November, 1944.  He was a member of the Fred A. Bloetscher Post No. 868, V. F. W. in Cleveland.

 

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Livisi; a half-sister, Mrs. Ladd (Alverna) Matousek, Neillsville; and two half-brothers, Clarence Davis of Neillsville and Jasper Davis of Seattle, Wash.
