Price, August (9 October 1882 - 5 September 1959)

August Price, 76, Rt. 1, Unity, died in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, September 5, of old age complications.  He was admitted to the hospital August 26.

He was born in Manitowoc County, October 9, 1882.  As a young man of 16 he came to Clark County and settled on a farm in Green Grove, where he lived since.

He was married to Erna Schenck, April 12, 1907, in Green Grove. He served as school clerk in his school district.

He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Frank (Laura) Kovatch of Duluth, Minn., Mrs. Chester (Hilda) Vine and Mrs. Hugh (Frieda) Vine of Janesville, Mrs. Warren (Verena) Thomas of Birchwood, and Mrs. Ray (Grace) Johnson, Loyal; and by two sons, Ernst, at home, and Edward of Milwaukee; by 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fred of Owen.

Funeral services were held from the Myre funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with William Baker officiating. Burial was made in the Beaver Town Cemetery.
