Young, Harold (13 SEPT 1904 - 20 MAR 1949)
Harold A. Young, who passed away on Mar. 20, was born on Sept. 13, 1904, in Milwaukee. When he was six years old, the family moved to Loyal. He lived here until he graduated from the Loyal high school in 1922, after which he worked for the Seaman Body Corporation.
On June2, 1928, he was united in marriage to Edna Goodnow of Milwaukee. For many years he held a local preacher’s license with the Methodist church. He had been engaged in Gospel work, either teaching in the Sunday school administering in personal work, and for some time he pastured a church in West Allis. When Jesus called him home, he was the teacher of the men’s Bible class in his home church, the Calvary Assembly on 12th and Madison streets.
The family has resided in Milwaukee, except for four years they lived at Tomahawk. At the time of his death, he was working at the Allis Chambers company.
He leaves to mourn his death: his wife, Edna; six children, Gerald, at present serving in the armed forces on Guam, Jean, Joan, David, Gloria and Joyce; his father, Bert Young of Loyal; one brother and four sisters.
He was laid to rest at Arlington Park cemetery. Those from Loyal who attended the funeral were : Bert Young, Calvin Young, Mr. and Mrs. William Butterbrodt, Mrs. Norman Kuehling and Mrs. Vernon Rogstad. Also there were Mr. and Mrs James Young of Willard.
