Cain, Martin (04 APR. 1885 - 15 APR. 1949)
Martin Francis Cain, 64, passed away at his home here at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Apr. 15. Cause of his death was a paralytic stroke.
The deceased was born on Apr. 4, 1885, in Buffalo county, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Mabel Hewitt at Alma on Aug. 19, 1908. After their marriage, they spent most of their years in Buffalo and Pepin counties, moving to Clark county in 1941 and to the Loyal area in 1942. They moved to the city in October, 1948.
He is survived by his wife and one son, Leroy, of the Airborne Infantry Division, Camp Breckenridge, Ky., and a brother, John Cain, in Pepin county.
Funeral services were held from St. Anthony’s Catholic church here at 9 o’clock Monday morning, with burial in the parish cemetery, the Rev. Fr. Aloys Zinthefer officiating.
Those acting as pallbearers were: Leo Rueth, Frederick Kovatch, Matt Vogel, Henry Vogel, Bert B. Brown and Nick Beaver.
Out of town people attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hewitt, John Cain, and E. J. Kewin, all of Durand; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stewart of Red Wing, Minn.; Ralph Cain of Spring Valley; Mrs. H. R. Stankey of Mondovi, and Leroy Cain of Camp Breckenridge.
The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a beloved relative.
