Lindow. John (14 APR 1868- ? JUNE 1949)
John Lindow, 81, retired Loyal farmer, died at 12:25 a.m. Sunday at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield, where he had been a patient since June 14.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday at the Loyal funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical United Bretheran church in Chili, the Rev. Raymond Browe officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Lindow was born on Apr. 14, 1868, in Calumet county and was married there on July 28, 1892, to Ida Luckow, who died on Mar. 18, 1936.
Mr. Lindow lived on his father’s farm until he grew to manhood. In 1890 he came to Clark county and purchased an 80-acre tract of timber-land in the town of Fremont. In 1939 he and his son, Amos, moved to a farm near Loyal, and the past four years he has been a resident of this city.
Surviving are three sons, Arthur of Westfield, Amos of Loyal and Roy of Spencer; a daughter, Mrs. Leland (Clara) Gerber, of Chili; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Amiel, of Granton, and a sister, Mrs. Emil (Ida) Haberland of Berlin. Five brothers, two sisters, a half-sister and two half-brothers preceded him in death.
The Tribune extends to the survivors its sympathy in their loss.
