Lea and Merceda "Marcy" Smart celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary recently.
The couple was married October 13, 1945, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
For their anniversary celebration, they took their seven children and their spouses to Allison’s Steakhouse for supper October 15 & 16.
Attending were Calvin and Susan Smart, Cassville, TN; Larry Smart, St. Petersburg, FL; Janice and Terry Ludwig, West Bend; Diane Zier, Spencer; Carol and Jim Stauner, Marshfield; Bernice Grajek, Las Vegas, NV; and Rusty Smart, West Allis.
Lea farmed and worked for Christiansen Sales Corp. He also took care of the Abbotsford Cemetery for 18 years. Marcy was a homemaker.
The couple lives in Abbotsford and has 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
