Brehm, Joan M. (Kawa) (November 25, 1944 - October 24, 2010)

Joan M. Brehm, 65, of Colby, passed away with her loved ones at her side Sunday, October 24, 2010 at House of the Dove, Marshfield. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joan was born November 25, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, to Violet (Kogut) and Walter Kawa.

She graduated Mosinee High School and went on to graduate from St. Mary’s School of Nursing. Joan was joined in marriage to James Brehm, May 7, 1966, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Knowlton. She enjoyed fishing, reading books, growing vegetables and flowers in her garden, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Brehm of Colby; her two sons, Russell (Marci) Brehm of Phoenix, Ariz., and Andrew Brehm of Dorchester; two grandchildren, Trevor and Trista Brehm. Joan is further survived by her sister, Alice Overbee of Eagle, and many other family and friends.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sheila Brehm, and her brother, Ron Kawa.
