Mueller, Elmer S. (March 11, 1916 - October 10, 2010)
Elmer S. Mueller, 94, of Abbotsford, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Elmer was born March 11, 1916 in the Town of Wien, Wisconsin to
John and Sophie (Schultz) Mueller.
Elmer was joined in marriage to Hilda Bluhm on September 18, 1940 at St. John’s American Lutheran Church.
Prior to his marriage, he worked as a woodsman and then farmed in
the Town of Frankfort. During farming years, Elmer was also
employed as an electrician, plumber, and installed furnaces. He
retired from farming in 1978 and moved to Abbotsford.
Elmer was on the dartball team for church for many years and continued to enjoy the outdoors including hunting on his land until his latest years. Most of all Elmer enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Elmer is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Hilda, of
Abbotsford; sons, Francis (Marilynn) Mueller of Marshfield, and
Larry "Chip" (Carol) Mueller of Colby; and daughters, Bernadine
Williams of Marshfield, Bonnie (Kenneth) Kloth of Merrill, Beverly (Paul) Comer of Jones, Mich., and Kristine (friend Carol) Mueller
of Marshfield. He is further survived by nine grandchildren,
sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one
brother, Otto; and two sisters, Caroline (Ray) Ellenbecker and
Marie Murphy.
Elmer is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Sarah (Steffen) Mueller; brothers, Leo, Daniel, Lawrence, Alfred, Harold,
Ervin, and Edwin; sisters, Mildred and Sophia; son-in-law, Ernie
Williams; and granddaughter, Angela Case.
His funeral service will be Friday, October 15, at Bethlehem
Lutheran Church in Milan at 11 a.m. The Reverend Jeff Lambrecht
will preside. Visitation will be held at the Maurina Schilling
Funeral Home in Abbotsford, on Thursday, October 14 from 5 to 8
p.m. Visitation will also take place Friday from 10 a.m. until the
service at the church.
