ABBOTSFORD -- James P. Heindl, 77, of Abbotsford died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield with his family by his side.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Saint Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. till time of service on Wednesday at the church. Burial, with full military rites, will be in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Jim was born March 3, 1933, in the town of Holton to Nick and Elizabeth (Leonhard) Heindl. He attended Pickard Grade School, Saint Louis Catholic School and La Crosse Aquinas High School.
Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean conflict, receiving the Korean service medal.
Jim married Janice Fischer on June 6, 1959, at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Before his retirement, Jim worked for Horacek Electric in Abbotsford from 1989 to 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Janice of Abbotsford, children, Mary Ann (Keith) Zachman of Appleton, Thomas (Lori) Heindl of New Lisbon, William (Lori) Heindl of Edgar, Rita Shoemaker (Friend Randy Steinman) of Rib Lake, Michael (Renee) Heindl of Colby and Timothy (Sheila) Heindl of Withee, sister, Helen Riegert of Colby and brother, Urban Heindl of Abbotsford.
