Oldham, Erdine (Marriage - 12 September 1959)
Wedding vows were exchanged September 12, by Miss Erdine Oldham and Richard Struensee, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Oldham and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Struensee, Jr., all of Rt. 2 Neillsville.
The Rev. Virgil Holmes performed the double ring ceremony in the Neillsville Methodist Church before an altar graced with pink and white bouquets of snapdragons and gladioli.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, approached the altar in a floor-length gown of lace over silk organza and tulle, with a very full bouffant skirt. The fitted bodice was fashioned with a Bateau neckline and long sleeves. A sequin covered head piece held her fingertip veil. She carried a bridal bouquet of white orchids, surrounded by red roses.
Maid-of-honor for her sister was Miss Mary Ann Oldham, and bridesmaid was Miss Alice Struensee, sister of the groom, both of Neillsville.
Robert Struensee attended his brother as bestman, and James Oldham, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Bill Oldham and Harold Boon, cousins of the bride, were ushers.
A reception was held in the Legion Hall for 90 guests.
People from away who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zais, Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Boon and family, Mrs. Len Boon, and Floyd and Clayton Boon, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rozenski, Chicago, Warren Lebeck, Cicero, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Volz, City Point, and Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Olson, Hixton.
