Neis, Felicia #3 (7 OCT 1888 - 7 NOV 1956)

 

Funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s Church in the city at 9:30 o’clock Monday morning for Mrs. F. P. Neis, 68, who passed away at the Stanley hospital Wednesday morning, Nov. 7th, 1956, following a heart attack on Tuesday.  Death was attributed to coronary thrombosis.  She had been afflicted with a heart ailment for a long period of time.

 

Father Arnold M. Muckerheide was celebrant of the Solemn High Mass, assisted by Father Edmund Cramer of St. Ann’s Parish and Father Ralph Geissler of St. Mary’s parish of Stanley, Wis.

 

Felicia Helen Bauer was born in Brownsville, Wis. on Oct. 7, 1888.  She was united in marriage to Dr. F. P. Neis on Oct. 30, 1917 at Mayville, Wis., where she lived for a year before her marriage.  She came to Gilman, Wis. in 1917 with her husband, where she resided until 1921, with the exception of one year which the doctor spent as a lieutenant in the military service.  From Dec. 1921 to June 1923 she resided at Plainfield, Wis.

 

Mrs. Neis has been a beloved resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), since June 1, 1923, when she moved here with her husband, Dr. F. P. Neis, and her two children, Margaret and Francis Philip, the youngest son was born here.  During the 33 years she resided in Thorp, Mrs. Neis was an active officer or member of many religious and civic organizations.  Some of those were: Christian Mothers’ Society, Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters., American Legion Auxiliary, Park Board, Whist Club and Band Mothers Club.

 

Her long and Christian career as a civic leader, homemaker and capable assistant to Dr. Neis has endeared her to som many of us.  Her passing away is a great sorrow and loss to this community.

 

Besides her husband, Dr. Francis P. Neis, the deceased is survived by one daughter, Margaret, Mrs. Erwin J. Klink, 814 Laurel Circle, S.E., Albuquerque, N.M., two brothers, Oscar Bauer, Juneau, Wis., and Alois Bauer, Jim Falls, Wis., and nine grandchildren.  One sister and a brother preceded her in death recently.

 

She was laid to rest in St. Bernard’s Parish Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Francis J. Conway, Dr. W. F. Nolechek, John Hickman, John O. Bogumill, Mark Hirsh and Charles Possley.

E. Bauer, Jim Falls, Wis., Miss Ann Neis, Oshkosh, Wis., Mrs. Al Shaw, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Mr. Ray Neis, Mr. Andrew Hetzel, Mrs. Norbert Kneuppel, Mrs. Donald Kneuppel, Mrs. John S. Klink, Mrs. D. E. Bennett and Donna, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bauer and Susan, all of Milwaukee, Mr. Francis McCarty, Brownsville, Wis., Mr. Lawrence Bauer, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Charles Keller and her sister, Theresa of Eau Claire, Wis., Dr. and Mrs. A. W. Overgard, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Mathwig, Stanley.
