Humbird, Wisconsin (29 October 1959)
Mrs. Bill Arnold suffered a heart attack Wednesday and is a patient at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville. The children are being card for by relatives.
A daughter was born to the Rev. and Mrs. Carl Serr of Humbird, Kathy Ann, Wednesday, October 21, at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.
The American Legion Auxiliary will meet Monday at 8 p.m. in the Newton home. Bring in what you have ready for the box to Wood (Home for Veterans).
The first all meeting of the Woman’s Study Club was held at the home of Mrs. Ida Campbell Wednesday afternoon, with nearly all members present. Mrs. Campbell served a dessert luncheon.
Mrs. Ernest Duerkop of Dodgeville writes, "We are closing our home for the winter and are leaving Wednesday October 21, for Santa Rosa, Calif., to spend the winter with friends and relatives. A nice log cabin awaits us." Mr. and Mrs. Duerkop are former residents of Humbird.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Walker have moved into the Cole Johnson home recently vacated by the Johnsons. Mr. Johnson is being cared for in a home near Owen.
The Royal Neighbors will meet November 4, at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Martha Simons.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Struensee and baby of Neillsville visited last Sunday at the Chet Baily home.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Loeffler and children of La Crosse were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sheffer.
Miss Coralee DeLong, who is attending school in Alma, sent the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl DeLong.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rude and family of Port Edwards were guests Sunday of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Park Sample.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Ringrose were in Neillsville Monday.
Mrs. Theo Blum of Price was a guest of her mother, Mrs. Laura Dignin, Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Al Raymond of Fairchild were
dinner guests Thursday at the Levi Fitzmaurice home.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Gjerseth and baby of Black River Falls visited
Thursday evening at the Gordon Gearing home.
Mrs. Elmer Duerkop drove to Madison on business Monday.
Mrs. Ida Holman and Mabel of Osseo are spending a few days in the Elmer Duerkop home.
Rev. Carl Serr attended a church meeting in Neenah Monday.
Earl Zimmerman left Saturday night on a business trip to Detroit, Mich. He will be gone several days.
