Neillsville, Wisconsin Methodist Church (World Community Day - 1959)
Services commemorating World Community Day will be observed tonight (Thursday) at 8 p.m. in the Neillsville Methodist Church.
Each year in early November protestant churches throughout the world, unite in an effort to relieve suffering in all areas where unfortunate people live. For the past several years the Methodist and United Church of Christ, have joined in the observance.
The asking this year are for young children’s and baby clothing. Anyone having donations of these articles may bring them to the church either before the services, during the week, or at the time of the meeting and they will be packed and sent to the specified place.
Guest speaker will be the Rev. Maurice Riedesel of Wausau, a former missionary in Honduras. Special music also will be featured. Everyone in the community is invited to attend and participate in an effort to reduce the suffering of little children in other parts of the world. - Esther Perkins reporter
