Paulson, Ardis (Divorce - 1959)
An absolute divorce was granted in circuit court here Monday afternoon to Mrs. Ardis Paulson, 33, of Loyal. She was given the couple’s trailer home, custody of four minor children, household goods and personal effects of the family.
The action was contested by Orell Paulson, former Loyal police chief who now is working as an apprentice cabinetmaker in Rochester, Minn.
Mrs. Paulson charged cruel and inhuman treatment, alleging that she had been "struck and abused" by the defendant. The defense claimed that Mrs. Paulson had refused to allow Mr. Paulson to visit their children at the trailer home in Loyal.
The right of visitation was granted to the defendant, who also was given the couple’s station wagon, along with a debt on it, in the division of property. The defendant was ordered to pay $100 per month for the support of the children, who range from four to 14 years.
