Robert "Bobby" was born June 18, 1935, to John and Erma (Elpert) Anderson. He graduated from Colby High School and served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1965. Bobby also attended Chippewa Valley Technical College and received his associate degree in electronics.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Arndt on Oct. 21, 1961, at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Withee, a marriage that was to last 49 wonderful years.
Bobby worked as a welder at Loos Machine Shop in Colby and at Meyers in Dorchester. He also worked for the Ford Garage in Withee until his retirement in 2000.
One of Bobby's many joys was repairing anything mechanical. Family, neighbors and friends could always count on him to "fix" whatever needed to be repaired. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren always held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Anderson of Owen; sons, Roger (Aloma) Anderson of Bowler, Mike Anderson of Owen and Steven (Jill) Anderson of Owen; and a daughter, Beverly (Mark) Brey of Greenwood; eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great-grandsons; a brother, Pete Anderson of Birchwood; and two sisters, Marie Sossaman of Brownsville, Calif., and Kathleen Kauffman of Unity.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; John and Erma Anderson; and two sisters; Beverly Sossaman and Ida Rosenlof.
We mourn his passing; we celebrate the gift of his life.
