Feldebruegge, Donald H. (6 FEB 1939 - 9 NOV 2010)

FITCHBURG -- Donald Henry Feldebruegge, 71, died at home in Fitchburg on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010.

e was born on a dairy farm in the town of Mayville in Clark County on Feb. 6, 1939, the son of Henry and Celia (Heindl) Feldbruegge. Don graduated from Dorchester High School in 1957. He then attended the University of Wisconsin, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in 1961. Several years later, Don went to graduate school at the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a master of science degree in 1970. He joined the clinical laboratory staff at University of Wisconsin Hospitals in 1970 and worked there as a biochemist for 32 years before retiring in 2002.

Don married Sandra Reichel, the love and support of his life, on Aug. 3, 1985. She gave his life a meaning that was missing before. Sandra also provided him the happiness of watching her four children grow into adulthood, and he then had the pleasure of enjoying life with the grandchildren. Don provided his ready-made family with a light as strong as the sun, a comforting stability and a tremendous sense of well-being, while they taught him to laugh and appreciate the insanity that is life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Reichel; three stepsons, Shawn Christensen, Leif (Rebekah) Hansen and Lars Hansen; stepdaughter, Amy (Howard) Waddell; four grandchildren, Alexandra and Trevor Christensen and Rowan and Nova Hansen; mother, Celia Feldbruegge; brother, Roger Lee (Dorothy) Feldbruegge; sister, Kristine Mary Seefeld; two nieces and nephew, Laura (Tomas) Ustanovska, Michelle Seefeld and Nicholas Seefeld.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Henry Feldbruegge; and two sisters, Diane Marie and Joan Ellen Feldbruegge.
