Nenahlo, Charles (3 September 1875 - 30 November 1959)
A requiem high Mass will be said this morning (Thursday) at 9 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Charles J. Nenahlo, 84, a former Neillsville resident, who died Monday at Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc. The Rev. Fr. Joseph Eisenmann will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Nenahlo, son of the late Frank and Antonia (Hlavachek) Nenahlo, was born September 3, 1875, in Reedsville. He received his education and on February 8, 1898, was married to the former Caroline Kubale there.
They farmed for a few years near Reedsville before moving onto a farm in the Marshfield area. They operated a furniture store at Lena and then farmed at Kewaunee until 1925, when they moved to the farm north of Neillsville now occupied by the Harold Imig family.
In 1942 Mr. Nenahlo retired from farming and moved to Neillsville, where he served as janitor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church until 1950. The family then moved to Manitowoc, where he worked at Holy Family Hospital.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and its Holy name Society.
He is survived by four children: Charles, Kewaunee; Anna (Sister Mary Carolla), West Point, Nebr.; Verona (Sister M. Caroline) Potosi, and Mrs. Alex (Cecelia) Poziombke of Neillsville. Nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
A combined Holy Name and General Rosary was said Wednesday evening at the Bergemann Funeral Home.
