Greenwood, Wisconsin (17 December 1959)

 

The Sunday school children’s Christmas program will be held Sunday evening at 8 o’clock at Immanuel United Church.

 

The ladies aid of Trinity Lutheran Church will meet this (Thursday) afternoon at the Herman Schendel home.

 

The Suffragette club will have its Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Frank Smaldone this (Thursday) afternoon.

 

The W. S. C. S. will hold its Christmas party in the Methodist Church Friday afternoon.  Mrs. Hugh Christie will be in charge of the program.  Following the meeting gifts will be exchanged and a potluck lunch will be served.

 

Members of St. Ann’s Society will have their Christmas party at St. Mary’s hall this (Thursday) evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Plisch and Mrs. Lawrence Neuenschwander visited Wednesday at the home of their aunt, Mrs. Christ Keiner.  Others who accompanied them were Mrs. Ewald Brehm, Mrs. Al Diedrich and Mrs. Wilmar Speers. The group, all from Athens, also visited the Winnebago Children’s home at Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Humke left Tuesday fro Rochester, Minn., where Mr. Humke entered a clinic.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart received a letter from Maj. And Mrs. Dave Mayo, who are now located at the Hamilton Air Force Base in California. The major is a former coach at the Greenwood High School.  After leaving here he spent some time in Minneapolis. They have three daughters, Cheryl Jo 15, Rebecca, 12 and Debra, 3.
