Zwanenburg, John #2 (18 SEP 1884 - 4 DEC 1956)
Rev. Cecil ward conducted services at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 o’clock Friday afternoon, Dec. 7th, for John Zwanenburg, 72, who passed away at the Stanley hospital Dec. 4, 1956, after a lingering illness.
The deceased was born in Amersfort, Holland on Sept. 18, 1884. He was united in marriage to Helena Jansen July 24, 1907 at Amersfort. He came to the United States in September 1912 and located on a farm 5 miles south and three-fourths of a miles east of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), but after retirement has resided 8 miles south and 1 ¼ miles east of Thorp, in the town of Mead.
Besides his wife he is survived by two brothers and two sisters in Holland.
He was laid to rest in the East Thorp Cemetery. Pallbearers were Conrad Barth, Cesar Barth, John Barth, Wm. Roesler, Jessie LaFlex and George Biddle.
