Weston Township (31 December 1959)

 

Members of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe will meet Tuesday evening, January 5, at 8 o’clock to discuss plans of extending an invitation to a new pastor.

 

Arthur Wegner, president of the congregation, states that they first two candidates selected by the congregation have found it impossible to accept the call.  The Rev. Norman Lindloff, pastor of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Neillsville, will continue to serve until a successor to the Rev. Robert W. Schlicht has been secured.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Grap entertained last weekend Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Grap and Vonda of Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Huettenrauch and Jill, and JoAnn Grap of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Grap, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Grap of Weston.

 

Charlotte Brown and Helen Afkind of the Winnebago Children’s Home spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Don Afkind.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Becker entertained Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. Orin Eastman, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hake, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mashin and Duane of Neillsville.

 

George Nielsen, who was confined to his home with an injured knee, is able to assist with the farm chores again.
