Prochazka, Robert, Sr. (20 May 1871 - 23 December 1959)

Funeral services were conducted Saturday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Robert Prochazka, Sr., 88, Neillsville, who died December 23.  The body was taken to Sunset Memorial Park for cremation.

The Odd Fellow Lodge service was in charge of Rollie Benedict and B. H. Peterson.

Mr. Prochazka was born May 20, 1871, in Bohemia, and at the age of 18 came to the United States, locating in Chicago, where he worked in meat packing plants.  During his lifetime he operated meat markets in Chicago, Hillsboro, Philip, S. D., and Pine City Minn., before coming to Neillsville in 1916.  He was in business here with his two sons until 1951.  Mr. Prochazka had been in failing health for the last 10 years.

His wife, Marie, whom he married in 1893 in Chicago, died in 1937 (1936 per her obit).

He is survived by two sons, George and Robert Prochazka, Jr., both of Neillsville. Five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

He was a member of I. O. O. F. Lodge, No. 198, of Neillsville.

Wilfred Galstad, accompanied by Kathleen Galstad, sang, "The Old Rugged Cross."
