Boardman, Mr. & Mrs. Vedell (Gold - 24 DEC 1956)

Monday, Dec. 24^th, 1956 marked the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Vedell Boardman, residents of Eidsvold, Town of thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) for the past 46 years.  Their oldest daughter also celebrated her wedding anniversary on Dec. 24.

The Boardmans have 17 living grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.  They generally spend Christmas Day of each year with their youngest daughter, Claribelle Foster and family, at Jump River, helping to celebrate the birthday of their granddaughter, who was born on Christmas Day 13 years ago.  They have four daughters married.

Mr. and Mrs. Boardman are old timers in this community and their parents were among the early settlers in Thorp.  Mr. Boardman was the son of the late Willis Boardman and his wife, Nellie Clark, was the daughter of Hugh and Sara Clark, were well known pioneers in this territory.  The Boardmans and Clarks took up homesteads around Thorp and here is where Nellie, Mrs. Vedell Boardman, was born.  The Courier joins their many friends in extending congratulations.
