Supt. Donald E. Peters will accompany the Neillsville school board to Milwaukee for a two-day school administrator’s convention today and Friday. Board members planning to attend are Kenneth Olson, Mrs. Kenneth (Eleanor) Manz, Joseph Ylvisaker, Melvin Appleyard and Joe Kaczor.
Arthur Carl has been a surgical patient at Memorial Hospital since Monday.
Lester Goke, general leader of the Atomic Workers 4-H Club, announces the skating party originally planned for last Friday at the Alfred Foemmel farm will be held when ice skating is again a reality.
Scoutmaster Jack Grether states that all Scouts in Troop 64 were to work toward personal fitness badges at their meeting Wednesday evening.
Prayer classes are being organized this week at the United Church with the Rev. George Grether leader of a class starting today (Thursday) at 12:45 p.m. and the Rev. Jacob Grether leader of a group starting Sunday, January 24, at 8 p.m. Each class will run for one hour and will continue for 32 weeks. Text books will be provided. Classes will be open to men and women.
Mrs. M. V. (Evelyn) Overman attended a meeting of the Badger Regional Blood Bank in Oshkosh Tuesday. Mrs. John R. Temte accompanied her and visited relatives.
Rogene Gruenke of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Staffon of Alma Center visited in Milwaukee last weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Lary Langreck, Kaela and Kevin, and Mrs. Walter Pollnow visited Mrs. Langreck’s sister, Mrs. Roceil Kiefer and family in Chippewa Falls Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Short visited Mrs. Minnie Krueger in Milwaukee last week and attended a mink show. They left their daughter, Mary, with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Amo, in Black River Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Short attended the mink show in Milwaukee last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Preston and two children of Hixton were Friday supper guests at the George Buddinger home. Mr. Preston and Douglas Buddinger were war buddies during the Korean police action.
Mrs. Florence Radke is assisting in the Rex Krejci home.
Mr. and Mrs. William Seif and three daughters attended a convention in the Twin Cities Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Armond Wachholz and two daughters were Sunday supper guests at the Leonard Wachholz home. Mr. and Mrs. Wachholz and family are moving February 1 to Alma Center, where Mr. Wachholz is in business.
Mr. and Mrs. Ole Aspen returned Wednesday from Mount Prospect, Ill., where they visited several days with Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Aspen.
Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Manz visited with their son, Paul, at Lawrence College, Appleton, last weekend.
Charles and Philip Thompson of Rockford, Ill., spent last weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Thompson.
Mrs. Donald E. Peters, Mrs. Malcolm Andresen and Rosemary, Mrs. Nellie Mills and Mrs. Jess Scott attended a party honoring Mrs. Rosamond Overman at the Dr. M. V. Overman home Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Scholtz visited Mr. and Mrs. William Hill in Elroy Friday.
Mrs. Agnes Cummings, who is employed in Tomah, spent last weekend here with her family. She drove around by Wisconsin Rapids, and brought her daughter, Nancy, home for the weekend.
Mrs. Clair Locke of Marshfield was a weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Scholtz.
Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Schroeder of Hatfield are visiting their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Art Schroeder.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lezotte, Sr., spent
last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lezotte, Jr., in
Stoughton.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Haas entertained at dinner Sunday: Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Counsell of the Town of Seif, Postmaster and Mrs. Harold
Wendt and sons, Jimmy and Randy, of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. John Hanson,
Jr., of Pine Valley; Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Botnen and his father, Ole
Botnen of Neillsville. The occasion was the 77th
birthday of Ole Botnen. They also honored Mrs. Hanson (the
former Marge Counsell) whose birthday was January 20.
Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Botnen and Ole Botnen were entertained at the John Gullickson home Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Kapfer spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Nellie Kapfer, at the Ed Timmler home near Loyal.
Mrs. Ole Larsen visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kessler.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ziegler are spending several days with their son, Harold Ziegler, and his family in Eau Claire.
Mrs. Rose Eberhardt who has been spending several weeks with her sister in Portland, Ore., and with relatives in Mountain View; Calif. has informed friends that she will return to Neillsville the latter part of this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lea and family of Stevens Point were Sunday visitors at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Markwardt.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gilbert, Eau Claire, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. James Milton.
Miss Caroline Prock of Milwaukee spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Prock and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fradette and sons, Eau Claire, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Bollom.
Mr. and Mrs. Arne Schwellenbach and family of Eau Claire were Sunday guests at the William Schwellenbachs.
Mr. and Mrs. William Schwellenbach attended funeral services Tuesday for Ted Miller in Weyerhaeuser. He was the father of Mrs. Clyde Schwellenbach.
Jeanie Bergemann, 7, is a patient at Memorial Hospital, where she is being treated for an infection. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bergemann.
Mrs. Julia Dwyer, 90, was moved to Memorial Hospital Monday.
John R. Bergemann drove to Madison Monday taking with him his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Bergemann of Granton. Gus Bergemann entered Wisconsin General Hospital for examinations and surgery.
Elmer Keller, who had been a patient at Memorial Hospital four weeks following a heart attack, returned home Monday afternoon.
