Lucht, Emilie (1 September 1862 - 5 February 1960)
Mrs. Emilie Lucht, 97, Spencer, Rt. 2, died at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lucht, Jr., Rt. 2 Spencer, at 4:10 p.m. Friday, February 5, of old age complications.
Mrs. Lucht the former Emilie Ewan, was born in Germany September 1, 1862, and received her education there.
She was 19 years old when she came with brothers and sisters to America and lived in Pittsburgh, Pa.
On September 20, 1882, she was married to Charles Lucht, Sr., at Pittsburgh. They later moved to Athens, and eight years after their marriage they moved onto a farm at Spokeville. She lived here for 69 years, the past five years with her son.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Loyal and funeral services were held there at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. V. A. Ganz officiating. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Lucht, Jr., and Art Lucht of Spencer, and four daughters; Mrs. Alfred (Alvina) Oestreich of Spencer, Mrs. Gust (Elizabeth) Voigt of Loyal; Mrs. William (Theresa) Fisher of Spencer; and Mrs. Ed (Martha) Zuehlke of Oshkosh. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
