Garvin, Fred (? - 4 February 1960)

 

Fred Garvin, 86, a former Loyal farmer and businessman, died February 4.  Funeral services were held in Sparta Saturday and the body was brought to Loyal for burial in the Loyal Cemetery.  Graveside services were conducted by a Sparta pastor at 4 p.m. Saturday.

 

He is survived by his wife of Viroqua; a son, Lee Garvin of Rockford, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Wally (Edith) Hornick of Richland Center and Mrs. Gerald (Ann) Johnson of Viroqua, and six grandchildren.

 

Those from away who attended the service at the graveside were: Mrs. Fred Garvin, Viroqua; Mr. and Mrs. lee Garvin and son, Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Wally Hornick, daughter and son, Richland Center; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Johnson and daughter, Viroqua; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Blaach, Greenwood; and Mr. and Mrs. Garvin Catlin, Eau Claire.

 

Many old friends of Loyal also attended the service, also Mr. and Mrs. David Smith.  Mrs. Smith is a niece of Mr. Garvin.
