Hanson, Christian M. (8 FEB 1889 - 13 FEB 1957)

 

Chris Hanson, 68, of Hannibal, passed away suddenly of a heart attack at his farm home in the Town of Cleveland, Taylor Co., Wis. Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 13th, 1957 at 2:30 o’clock.  He had been active in the operation of his farm up until death.

 

Christian Madison Hanson was born in Missouri on Feb. 8, 1889.  He was united in marriage to Ella Fletcher in Lakota, Iowa on Aug. 20, 1909.

 

He came to Taylor County in 1925 and acquired his present farm in 1950.

 

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Lyle Hanson of Waukesha, Wis., and one daughter, Mae, Mrs. Leland Miller of Racine, Wis., and two grandchildren.

 

The body lay in state at the Gilman Funeral Home until the time of the funeral, which was held at the Hannibal Presbyterian Church at 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Feb. 16, Rev. Jay Miller officiating and interment following in the Hannibal Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Martin Glelike, Leo Oberle, Jim Welch, Percy Baker, Jerry O’Connell and Clifford Redman.

 

Out of town relatives and friends attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nemo and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kirk and family of Durand, Wis.; Earl Rigg of Sparta, Wis.; Mrs. Ann Hasletter of Chicago; Mrs. Mildred Cronk of Brookings, S.D., and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hackerson of Northfield, Minn.
