Commemorate Sailing (From Europe –1960)

Sunday guests of Mrs. Christ Keiner were Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Romang, Sr., Mrs. Johanna Romang, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Neuenschwander, all of Athens, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson.  The group commemorated the day 76 years ago on March 6, 1884, when Mr. Romang and his sister, Mrs. Keiner, and their family left their home in Ebnit, Switzerland, and sailed from Havre, France, for America.  The Romang family settled at Black Creek Falls, later renamed, "Athens".
