Goeke, Lina Minnie (1 August 1871 - 5 March 1960)
Mrs. Lina Goeke, 88, of Greenwood died Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alma Busch. Mrs. Goeke, the former Lina Minnie Stockmeier, daughter of Henry and Minnie (Schomberg) Stockmeier, was born in Newton, August 1, 1871. She was married to August Goeke, February 18, 1892, at Newton. After their marriage they farmed in Newton until 1910, when they came to Greenwood and settled on a farm 2 ½ miles northwest of here in the Town of Warner, where she resided until June of last year, when she came to the city to make her home with her daughter. The Goeke farm is now occupied by her grandson, Harvey Goeke.
She was a member of the Immanuel United Church and of its Women’s Guild.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alma Busch and Mrs. William (Emma) Kuester, both of Greenwood, and a son, William of Greenwood; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gustave Stockmeier of Newton and the Rev. Otto Stockmeier of Holgate, O.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Immanuel United Church. The Rev. Orval Egbert officiated. Burial was made in the West Side Cemetery.
